Positive Focus Training

The school environment provides the ideal place for children and young people to explore different ways of coping with challenges and to develop positive strategies that will be with them throughout their lifetime.

Over recent years some positive psychology strategies such as the growth mindset and mindfulness have become more well know within the school environment. However, sometimes these theories can be taken in isolation or as a result of a single training course, and not joined within the rich and detailed framework of knowledge that underpins the theory. Our Positive Focus Training aims to redress this by providing this knowledge as a whole school approach in order to promote consistsency and knowldge within schools and other organisations working with young people.

By linking evidence based theories and expert peer reviewed advice, we provide high impact, practical and easily accessible information that can be used daily through working practice.

Resilience Training

The UK Government estimates that British employers pay around £9 billion annually for sick pay and associated costs. According to the Health and Safety Executive, stress accounted for 37% of all work-related ill health and 45% of lost working days in 2015/16.

Psychological health is being increasingly seen as important as physical health. Although stress is to be expected, it can be unduly affected by various factors including perception, coping strategies and support levels.

If not dealt with effectively, stress can impact on our every day functioning, with a resultant decline in individual and team morale.

With our doctorate level training and practical experience, we can promote individual and collective well-being to develop:

Self Awareness

Understanding of Stress Triggers

Individual and Team Based Coping Strategies

Increased Resilience

Drawing from our experience of working with neurological patients in hospital and residential settings, we understand the challenges faced by those working within the care sector.

Stable Focus can provide for mandatory staff training. Specialist areas include dementia, stroke and traumatic brain injury.

Our training packages bring together the necessary information for care roles, including: the Mental Capacity Act (1998); safeguarding; active listening; confidentiality; and person-centred care.

The demanding nature of care, can mean a relatively high staff turnover. This in-turn has an effect on both organisations and those being cared for. We identify causes and recommend changes to aid staff retention, thereby reducing inefficiencies.
